About  our  Founder

 

Dr. Conte M. Terrell is an ordained Minister; a dynamic, electrifying speaker; and author. Dr. Conte M. Terrell is a survivor of a ten-year marriage to a physically abusive spouse. You may have seen, read, or heard her awesome testimony, via television, radio, magazines or books. This experience led her to founding Fresh Spirit Wellness for Women, a non-profit organization for women and youth, and obtaining a Master degree and becoming a Clinical Christian Counselor. Fresh Spirit Wellness organization, Inc. is a non-profit organization that empowers families, women and youth to overcome life’s unexpected challenges, due to, but not limited to verbal, emotional, physical or sexual abuse.

Over the past five years, she has counseled over 1500 women and youth, helping them to have a life of hope and victory. She has been an advocate for domestic and sexual violence victims for the last 18 years. Also, Fresh Spirit Wellness, Inc. annually hosts the Hope Legacy Awards, which raises awareness and funds for victims and victors of domestic violence.

Dr. Conte has been invited to speak and teach on occasions ranging from church events, conferences, retreats, cruises, T.V. & Radio shows, conventions, fortune companies, schools and more. She recently completed her Doctorial degree in Christian Psychology/Counseling from Jacksonville Theological Seminary.

She is the host of the "Conte Terrell Show: Where the hurt turns to healing” a cable talk show to promote wellness for women. She has used one of her many gifts to complete her first self-help and inspirational book for women “Deliverance to a Fresh Spirit” a 12- step guide to overcoming and ending toxic relationships, and her second book, “There is a Queen in You!” is due out late summer of 2011. By using her real life situations and her desire to see people made whole she has changed the lives of many. She has been honored and recognized on numerous occasions for her outstanding leadership and commitment to community service, including an award from Inspire Women, YMCA Community Leadership Award, and the last three issues in Who’s Who in Black Houston.
